This amazing Northern Circuit Safari offers you the opportunity to witness the Big Five animals and other thrilling wildlife. Additionally, you can experience the culture of the Hadzabe and Datoga tribes in Lake Eyasi. This is a fly-in safari from Zanzibar Island to Arusha city, the tourism capital, with full-board, a personal English-speaking guided and private use of a safari jeep.

Itinerary Day by Day

Day 01:  Arrival in Arusha City

Upon your arrival at the Arusha Airport (ARK), our representative and skilled driver guides will warmly welcome you. They will accompany you to your accommodation in Arusha City, where you can unwind and make necessary preparations for the thrilling moments to come. If weather conditions permit, you will be treated to a breathtaking sight of Mount Meru, the shy beauty in the distance.

Day 02: Drive from Arusha city to Tarangire National Park

Our driver guide will pick you up from your lodge in Arusha City early in the morning and depart on a delightful journey to Tarangire National Park for a wildlife game drive. The game drive will be an opportunity to witness the park’s remarkable wildlife. After the game drive in the evening, you will return to the lodge for relaxation and spend the night there.

The park owes its existence to the Tarangire River, which flows through the parklands. During the dry season, the river is the only source of water for wildlife animals in the park. Tarangire National Park is renowned for its large elephant herds, which inhabit diverse landscapes, ranging from seasonal swamps to savannas. We may even have the chance to see a lion stalking its prey or leopards lounging in the trees above. In the late noon, you’ll drive to the lodge in Karatu Town for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3 Drive from Karatu Town to Ngorongoro Conservation Area

After breakfast at the hotel, your driver guide will collect you and depart for Ngorongoro Crater, where you will go on a game drive inside the Crater. Upon completion of the game drive, you will return to the hotel for relaxation, dinner, and an overnight stay.

Ngorongoro Crater is one of the UNESCO world heritage sites in Africa and is regarded as one of the natural wonders of Africa. It is home to the largest uninterrupted caldera in the world, and approximately 30,000 large mammals, such as buffaloes, lions, elephants, cheetahs, and rhinos, reside there all year round. The area is also home to various types of birds, including flamingos, eagles, and buzzards. You should be prepared to see a wide range of animals within a short period of time. After the full game drive inside the crater, you ascend and drive back to Karatu town for dinner and overnight stay at your lodge.

Day 04: Drive from Karatu Town to Lake Eyasi for the cultural experience

After enjoying your breakfast, your safari guide will drive you to Lake Eyasi where you will have the opportunity to meet the Hadzabe tribe, renowned for their hunting skills. You can even join them on a hunting excursion to witness their techniques first-hand. Afterwards, you will visit the Datoga tribe who are renowned for their exceptional blacksmithing abilities.

In addition, you can take a stroll around Lake Eyasi and visit nearby villages to experience the true African way of life. Once you have completed all these activities, you will be taken back to your lodge located at Mto wa Mbu Town to unwind, enjoy dinner, and spend the night.

Day 05:  Lake Manyara National Park to Arusha / Kilimanjaro Airport

After breakfast at your hotel, your safari guide and driver will pick you up and take you on a game drive to Lake Manyara National Park. Covering an area of just 330 sq. km (127 sq. miles), with up to 200 sq. km (77 sq. miles) made up of the lake when water levels are high, Lake Manyara National Park is renowned for its arboreal lions, which conceal themselves among the branches of the trees, and the numerous colonies of baboons that inhabit the forest and will accompany you along the road as you enter the park.

The park is also an excellent location for bird watching and a good area to spot elephants, hippos, giraffes, zebras, baboons, warthogs, and buffalos. During your game drive, we will make a stop at the hippo pool where you can stretch your legs and observe the hippos. Once the game drive is finished, we will transfer you to Arusha or Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) for your departure to your next destination or back home, marking the end of the safari.
